Downtown Legal Services acknowledges that the land on which we operate has for thousands of years been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.

We know that acknowledging the traditional and current Indigenous Peoples of the land is a small step in facing the history and present realities of colonialism in Canada. We continue to explore meaningful ways to respond to the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action.
